5th email from Spearman - "Able and willing?" (Images)

Yes, I have been looking at tags for some time now and nothing with the keywords that Hannah has previously mentioned has emerged that has any relevance. I have wondered if some of the Spearman/Ellis e-mails/blogs has been encoded, perhaps in a similar way to Arnold Schwarzenegger did with his recent veto memo, as reported in Wired.

Spearman:

By solving the first of my riddles, you have shown me that you are able. In return, I have shown you what you are needed for. Now I need you to show me that you are willing. I need you to send a message to the world. I've put it where many other people also put their images. Can you find it?

I think we might be getting a bit distracted - Spearman hasn't said anything about Andy or Marrakech for this specific task. Previously, when Spearman (or Lox for that matter) speaks in the first person about something he has done, it has actually been something Derren has done.

The other thing I think we need to bear in mind is that we're looking for a message, a message that happens to be located where other people also put their images. My money would be on this being a message encoded in something Derren has already released - perhaps something we've already watched.

When we find it, we'll be better placed to figure out how to "send it to the world."

^^ I completely agree.

I think it would be to do with some of Derren's work which has already been aired. The trick is just hunting down the correct episode !

I hadn't thought about the link between speaking in first person like that, makes alot more sense. I agree, its just knowing where we need to start looking...

Talks about images/signs etc....?

In the middle of my class at college I had a flash of inspiration...alot of us have entered msn addresses..which you get a profile with ..which you can also upload IMAGES onto...so nearly broke my neck to get home and yay there is a GERRY SPEARMAN on windows live!!!!!! The profile is private but I have added it and see what unfolds from there!

I literally read that book last week - it was ever so slightly over my head, but there isn't anything to report..except that I can be very impressionable:

Book: something along the lines of "Disneyland is a simulation...it's evil"
Me: Yeah! It is evil! *10 minute delay* ..no, wait, I love Disneyland!

I was more curious about the fact it was posted on the opeing page to DB's website, that been there long? Seems like a message to me!

Yeah I do recon its related but I don't think we will find out what it means for quite a while.

It's been there since the beginning of the ARG - it kind of kicked things off after we found out about the UV braille. The concepts of "signs", "code" and "simulation", which are all mentioned in the book, all pointed to the ARG starting.

Then again, it could mean something else. We should never rule anything out completely.

It was on the redirection page when Derren posted something along the lines of we had broken the old website with the amount of posts so he had to more to another host and when you clicked on the bookmark it brought up a blank white page apart from that quote

Worth an email to Spearman perhaps? We could do with a bit of "getting warm" or "getting cold" feedback from him.

we made an original choice. and we know on an individual level why we made it.

personally i am ok with being a spearmanite.

i don't think they would throw so many out at this early stage. it is basically half and half as to who is on what team.

Has anyone emailed him about newspapers yet? It may be a bigger newpaper to reach the world - the Metro is hardly the world. Though there is the News of the World... I'll email him now. I guess it won't hurt if he gets more than one.

I've been looking through the papers for the past few day's. I was thinking the same as you guy's. Do you think it would be in the papers considering it's a few by comparison that's in this comp?
