Re: 1st email from Spearman - "Help required - SOLOS (3:31 clock)
So everyone tells me, but I'm such a non-geek and I have laughed out loud at old Keanu's attempts at acting. Really, you don't know how gritted my teeth are here. This is one of my nightmares.
Re: 1st email from Spearman - "Help required - SOLOS (3:31 clock)
The file name, aspmcpo, anagrams to 'spamcop' which is a company/website where you can report spam emails apparently. Just saying in case that makes one of you web tekkies out there (ahem Colin) say 'oh well that will be why it's named that then, we can close that avenue of investigation'.
Re: 1st email from Spearman - "Help required - SOLOS (3:31 clock)
Lairy T - keep it handy. But it seems to me that it is the 'follow instructions' that belong to this clue - at least at present. I'm sure I'll be proved wrong, haha. Now I'm going to re-google about the box.
Re: 1st email from Spearman - "Help required - SOLOS (3:31 clock)
There must be some kind of 'Keanu' influence going on cos I keep on saying 'woah' at the mo......!!
Oh, I love The Matrix, only the first film though, wasn't so keen on the last 2.

My boyfriend is the same, I made him watch it till he understood it, and he hated every minute, but he wont watch any of the sequels.

Re: 1st email from Spearman - "Help required - SOLOS (3:31 clock)
Has anybody considered emailing back to 'Spearman' with a 'How can we help?' type message??
Re: 1st email from Spearman - "Help required - SOLOS (3:31 clock)
Hello all,
I didn't receive the email (sad face), but I emailed arg and they said:
In other news, I don't think the mysterious Spearman is anything to do with us having to calculate a correlation coefficient - though it is pretty straightforward, we don't have enough numbers. Or do we......? For all of you who have the patience, or inclination, to mess around with spearman rank, the excel formula is =PEARSON. I think that's too obscure though.

. Another clue coming tomorrow maybe? (happy face)! You should receive it tomorrow. You should receive two.

Haha Nikki!
And Lairy T, I was torn between responding and not responding as I have no instructions to respond as yet and the email said they can't talk. But I did reply and said I could help. I can but try as a team.

LairyT - Haha yep I've heard of spamcop before... they're pretty big, and I can't imagine they'd be in on the ARG, no harm looking though!
Did you find page 133 of AIWL? I thought only a few pages were online...
JayKay - Keanu may be 5 ply thick, but it actually doesn't really detract too much from the general "whoa" of the movie! Enjoy

'Neo' does get told to follow the rabbit very early on in The Matrix, but is this a step forward or a step back?

Are we still going with the backwards theme? If we are, shouldn't it be 8:29?
Don't suppose someone could forward the Spearman email to me please? The ARG people said I'll get mine tomorrow but I'm impatient! (HannahDerbyshire@cantab.net). .

AIWL only has 105 pages in paperback unabridged version
Re: 1st email from Spearman - "Help required - SOLOS (3:31 clock)
I've already checked Spamcop when I found the anagram earlier - you have to log on and everything and create an account. I think it's a bum steer.
And I will relax and try to enjoy the Matrix - but it will be tomorrow, as there's only Reloaded and Revolutions available on Virgin. How very dare they!

Re: 1st email from Spearman - "Help required - SOLOS (3:31 clock)
One last thing before I go to bed (said that like half an hour ago), could the clock image be a hint to tell us when the next message will come through? Or is that too obvious?
Re: 1st email from Spearman - "Help required - SOLOS (3:31 clock)
I like the obvious - i get a little too lost in details! Will set up something to hit the site at 3:31am just in caseLairyT wrote:One last thing before I go to bed (said that like half an hour ago), could the clock image be a hint to tell us when the next message will come through? Think it refers to the saying that you do to people on the first of the month - 'pinch punch first of the month, white rabbit'. You say it while you pinch and punch someone on the first of the month, saying white rabbit means they can't do it back to you
