Wow, how come your image looks so much clearer than mine?
The equation looks to me like integration, maybe r ω = ∫ e^(–e) t^(λ – 1) dt ? But I think there are constraints that I can't make out...
The only thing I can see in the writing is that it starts with "the" and ends with either "& well" or "& wall". The word before the equation might be Gamma or Gemma?
if its gamma - that could ironically mean gamma radiation - its the strongest type and can travel for hundreds of meters and the equation contains elements of atomic rate if that helps.

That little Derren has been used a lot in previous programmes - especially trick or treat.

Anyway, I believe Gamma is the third letter of the Greek alphabet... did someone mention something Greek earlier....?

Re: Poster task - send your message to the world
Ooh! Spearman was definitely the best choice, so interesting!
Well done Codifier for finding that. I'm still trying to catch up with everything, it's a bit of a nightmare joining at this stage... Are we changing our Twitter pics to the box?

I've changed my Twitter and Facebook profile pictures to "The Box". Try reading the wiki; it seems like there is alot to catch up on if you only look at the number of threads on here, but in reality there are only a handful of major events that have happened.

Ok, thanks for that. I'm in work all day today and the Internet connection's terrible. I'll try my best to read it all though.

My God, it's full steam ahead. Thank you Codifier.
Should we wait till Spearman gets back to us before we change profile pix?

Nope, he isn't, ARG officials told me not to email him. I think it was just a coincidence.

Re: Poster task - send your message to the world
This is going o be HELL today! Virgin Media keeps packing up and I'm getting 2 posts read before it dies on me - been like this since last night, grrrr! There is a combustion thing on science of scams this week, so maybe there is a chemical reaction we need to be aware of - or be aware that there is a chemical reaction involved if we're not meant to be able to read it? Were there particular metals mined or to be found in the area that's on the map? Did we import/export those in teh times of the map?
Re: Poster task - send your message to the world
Regarding the box, read this blog post.
http://derrenbrown.co.uk/blog/2009/09/events-full-details-shows-click-watch/
It's also a reference to Alice in Wonderland

Re: Poster task - send your message to the world
And the box on the pic looks really glassy to me too. Any "eat me" cakes in the box?
And btw, wasn't there a running gag regarding a Box during the Enigma-tour? Can't remember what that was about, but that's what I connect to "The Box".
Better shut up now. Wrong team!

It's also a reference to Alice in Wonderland
"Soon her eye fell on a little glass box that was lying under the table: she opened it, and found in it a very small cake, on which the words `EAT ME' were beautifully marked in currants. `Well, I'll eat it,' said Alice, `and if it makes me grow larger, I can reach the key; and if it makes me grow smaller, I can creep under the door; so either way I'll get into the garden, and I don't care which happens!'
She ate a little bit, and said anxiously to herself, `Which way? Which way?', holding her hand on the top of her head to feel which way it was growing, and she was quite surprised to find that she remained the same size: to be sure, this generally happens when one eats cake, but Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.
So she set to work, and very soon finished off the cake. "
you can find the whole book here: http://www.aliceinwonderland.com/ch1.html
