Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
Does anyone else think those Brown Towers buggers are logging on as newbies with misdirecting and timewasting posts?
Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
lol i was starting to think this and am becoming paranoid but if ya think about it firstly they want someone to win and secondly they would have been on the site for a few days monitoring not just today or yesterday
Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
I think they like a good laugh too! Buggers!
Clock photo
Could the fact that the clock has gone back by over an hour have anything to do with the fact that the clocks are going back this weekend..?

Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
Helen, why are you thinking of London as N? Because the red devil is there?
Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
Our time change means the 3 is no longer a constant also...
Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
My first instinct when I was looking at Lox's clock as a compass was that the 3 was north, and our devil was pointing east-southeast. I'm trying to find maps of Oxford landmark maps to find out the relative locations of clock towers, devil references etc.

Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
That was my instinct, but, taking into account that red on red gives you the direction you're going, I dunno. Cos the 3 as constant is now changed on Spearman's latest one... and is 2 now. But Spearman may be throwing a spanner in also?

Possibly... might be an idea to check IP addresses then from the emails to see if DarkmanLox or Spearman are registered here maybe?? I can't get the darkmanlox one as it's gmail and they don't (or at least I think they don't) show originating IP's, but the spearman one is from IP 207.97.245.151 (I think, don't quote me) which means it's sent through an enom server (perhaps www.derrenbrown.co.uk is hosted on an enom server or reseller like Rackspace etc), and sent through Apple Mail. Dunno if that helps at all...
Hmmm, just looked at the DarkManLox email properties again and found this IP: 87.194.10.32 - points to BeThere Broadband. So perhaps we do have 2 different people on 2 different computers and not just one person pretending to be both people? Just rambling now....... ignore me.
Now - this means, Spearman's emails seem to come from the official site (through the DB server) - and DarkManLox - still official but comes through their own broadband connection unless Brown Towers uses BeThere of course. I'm going round in circles, not concentric though

Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
Just to throw another idea into the pot:
The first clock from Spearman said 15:31, and the second clock from Spearman said 14:08. If you turn both these into dates (1408 and 1531) they are both common years (that is years with no leap year in them) that started on a Sunday in the Julian (our current) calendar. The next year like this is 2017 and the most recent one was 2006. Just thought it was awfully convenient that both years started on the same day. Also the 18th July 2010 is a Sunday and the 18th July was underlined on some people's poster. Remember we are looking still for Some Time. I don't think the clock pics are the Some Time - that's just too easy!
Also fond reference to the Doomsday rule which is used to calculate what day a certain date will be in any given year. 'It takes advantage of the fact that within any calendar year, the days of 4/4, 6/6, 8/8, 10/10, 12/12, and the last day of February always occur on the same day of the week—the so-called "doomsday" (and furthermore that other months have "doomsday" on the pairs 5/9 and 9/5 as well as 7/11 and 11/7).
Thought the numbers were quite interesting. Just put it all here in case.
Definitely liking the latest Map near Ox landmarks idea - didn't think of using the two names to get a sentence.

Hey guys, maybe it means absolutely nothing? The pictures, the mails....?
Just to get us off of our feet?
Because north, south, miles, and so on....
We presume that every "contestant" is from the UK...
But... I for example, am from The Netherlands....
And maybe there are other people from abroad?

Hey, sorry, just posting anything and everything in case in the future we need it! Can't get my head around how I moderate this blimmin' forum though - want to change some thread titles as I think they are confusing. Anyone know how i do it? Colin old chap where are you when i need you?
Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
They did say it would poss include other countries too. And now I think I will rest my weary napper. (Head).
Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
I'm in awe of your number crunching. If that's what you can manage whilst working on the admin bits too... And here's me plugging away with a few dates...
Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
It's because someone else said about keeping it simple. So I'm looking at the facts, like what the clock times are, how they relate to one another etc, the differences between the times. Seeing if it all relates. i think there will be another Darkman email tomorrow with another clock, so I am trying to second guess what it will be, then if I'm right woohoo!! But prob not...........
Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
Not sure how these forums work, but when I used to moderate on another forum, you could change the title of a topic by editing the first post, which started the thread... *shrugs*LairyT wrote:Can't get my head around how I moderate this blimmin' forum though - want to change some thread titles as I think they are confusing. I'm trying to do exactly the same thing. I did come up with the idea that maybe the times relate to distances between places in Oxford, sort of leading someone on a specific route/map based on time but it would be very inaccurate depending on how fast you travel
Its hard trying to keep it realistic...
Re: 2nd email from Spearman - "Part two of three" (2:08 clock)
Lairy T, I'll be working and prob not able to log on till well into evening, so good luck to you!
